She was the recipient of a National Institute of Health Dentist Scientist Award. During the award period, she did research in the Beth Israel Hospital Orthopedic Biomechanics Lab. Her area of research concentration was the effect of estrogen deficiency on the mandible.

Dr. Elovic also has had extensive teaching experience at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where she was undergraduate course director for the Complete and Removable Partial Denture course. Prior to working in private practice, Dr. Elovic was a member of the Harvard Dental School faculty group practice. She has been published in peer reviewed journals and maintains membership in many professional organizations.

Dr. Rebecca Pechenik Elovic grew up in the small town of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She attended University of Pennsylvania where she majored in Bioengineering. She volunteered in the children’s hospital and thrived in an environment that involved helping people.

While attending the University of Pennsylvania, she heard a lecture from her engineering advisor about a new dental invention. A light bulb went off and she knew being a dentist would be a perfect career choice. She loved to sculpt in clay and dabbled in all sorts of artistic endeavors. Dentistry would provide her with the ability to use her artistic talent and her engineering mind to help patients.

Dr. Elovic moved to Sharon in 1991 and has been there ever since with her three daughters and two feisty golden retrievers. She has a myriad of hobbies and talents. In the summer, you will find her in her garden happily planting her perennials or tending to her self-built waterfall, bee hives and koi pond. Yearlong, Dr. Elovic trains for and competes in dog agility with her sweet golden retrievers, Winter, Lulu and Brie. She plays tennis, swims, takes daily hikes in the woods, snorkels, scuba dives, and skis. She also makes jewelry, has a pottery studio in her basement, and even dabbles in watercolor. She meditates and has an interest in alternative homeopathy.
